AI in government

Applied AI for public services, in production today

We design, build and run AI that does real work inside government: reading documents, assessing applications and supporting decisions. Routine cases are decided in minutes, and officers keep the judgement calls.

What we can do

From first idea to AI that runs every day

Document understanding

AI that reads forms, identity documents and supporting papers, and checks them against your requirements.

01
Automated assessment

Clear, rules-based cases decided in minutes, with uncertain ones passed to an officer.

02
Decision support

The facts of each case gathered and summarised, so officers can decide faster.

03
Assurance and audit

Every automated decision recorded with its inputs and any human override, ready for review.

04
Pacific languages

AI that works in the languages people speak, beginning with Tok Pisin, Motu and Engan.

05
Careful adoption

Uses chosen with you, tested thoroughly and agreed before anything goes live.

06
In service since 2025

Visas decided in minutes

  • Immigration and Citizenship Service Authority

Since 2025, AI has been part of Papua New Guinea's online visa service. It reviews each application against the Immigration and Citizenship Service Authority's own rules, approves the straightforward ones and passes anything that needs a closer look to an officer. In November 2025, we signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Information and Communications Technology on generative AI across government.

Where it fits

Where AI earns its place in government

Visa and permit applications assessed in minutes, with officers on every hard case. In production in Papua New Guinea since 2025.
Applications checked for completeness and eligibility as they arrive, so staff spend their time on decisions.
Returns, payments and supporting documents matched and checked, with exceptions flagged early.
Large backlogs of files read, sorted and indexed, so information can be found when it is needed.
Translation and transcription for Pacific languages, so services can reach people in the language they use.
