Treasurer Ian Ling-Stuckey met the Australia-based executive team of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Port Moresby in July 2021. NiuPay, AWS’s partner in Papua New Guinea, facilitated the meeting.

The discussion centred on how cloud technology could speed up Papua New Guinea’s digital transformation: the e-government projects NiuPay was delivering with government departments and state-owned enterprises, support for local start-ups, and AWS Educate, the company’s cloud skills programme, which it planned to bring to Papua New Guinea.

The Treasurer said that AWS support, delivered through NiuPay, would accelerate the country’s digital transformation. Our Chief Executive Officer, James Inglis, briefed him on the work under way. Thank you, Treasurer, for your time and your support.
