The NiuPay team at the NiuPay stand at the Digital Transformation Summit 2026 in Port Moresby

Close to 2,000 coffees, three helicopter flights to give away and a great many good conversations: the Digital Transformation Summit 2026 (DTS26) was a big week for the NiuPay team. We were Platinum sponsor of the summit, hosted by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) at The Stanley Hotel and APEC Haus in Port Moresby in July, a step up from our Gold sponsorship of DTS25, where we signed a memorandum of understanding with DICT on generative AI.

On the programme

  • Chief Operating Officer Trevor Manokore presented on AI and technology for government, then moderated a panel on advancing sovereign digital government through proven integration.
  • Chief Executive Officer James Inglis joined the panel “AI in Government: From Pilot to Production”, on how government moves from experiments to measurable public impact.
  • Chief Technology Officer Jason Kurdzinski took part in the closed session for Digital Transformation Officers, sharing practical examples of using AI and emerging technologies safely in public services.

On the stand

Our stand showed the systems behind services people use every day: land titles issued digitally, visas applied for and paid for online, city services and payments in Lae, and AI reading immigration documents in production while officers decide the hard cases. Every coffee was a chance to talk, and three visitors won a scenic helicopter flight over Port Moresby in our Fly the Cloud with NiuPay selfie competition.

The next generation

On the first day we welcomed 20 students and their principal from Marianville Secondary School, part of the partnership behind the Sister Angela Taylor Leadership and ICT Program. On the final day, our Solutions Architect Interns, Steven Kaupa and Julian Togel, three months into their time with us, competed in the national finals of the PNG Hackathon 2026 as the Zero Trust Bears, with a payment services entry in the Financial Services track. Well done, both of you.

Thank you to DICT and Secretary Steven Matainaho, to our fellow sponsors and speakers, and to everyone who stopped by the stand.
