Visa fees go online with Immigration’s new payment gateway
Travellers and sponsors can now pay every migration service fee online, from anywhere in the world. From 1 November 2019, the Immigration and Citizenship Service Authority (ICA, now ICSA) has introduced a new online payment gateway for all its fees, with visa fees set in US dollars (ICA public notice).
We built the eVisa payment system with ICA. It makes ICA the first government body in Papua New Guinea to accept payments online, which our Director, James Inglis, later described as the government’s first step into e-government.
The gateway follows ICA’s September announcement of seven new eVisa classes. Together, they let a visitor apply and pay online in one sitting.
It was the start of a long partnership. Today, the MyICSA Analysis Engine we built with ICSA decides around 95 per cent of short-term visa applications automatically, in minutes.
